Nanci opened the FI Country Mouse over 25 years ago after she'd had enough of the crime and armed robberies at her Greenwich Village store, The City Mouse, Ours is a true "Mom & Pop Store"
Nanci offered me the opportunity of setting up a showcase inside the Country Mouse to display, and sell, my personal collection of assorted collectibles. The store is so tiney that I've covered the walls and ceiling with an assortment of varied items, e.g. Comics and specialty toys of all sorts. Most of the items are from my personal collection and are no longer being manufactured or sold in retail stores. I keep my prices low so that kids can buy them with their own money, thus becoming collectors themselves. If you are not a beach person Fire Island can get boring, so I picked up a trick from the children... paint rocks and shells and sell them in the streets (and at the annual Fine Arts & Crafts Show).
Please come visit, especially during early afternoon, when I give Nanci her lunchbreak.
